I completed a five-year Psychology degree programme at the University of Malaga, Spain, and graduated in 1998. I obtained a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy from the Tavistock Clinic in London in 2003. I became qualified as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist through the Statement of Equivalence in Clinical Psychology with the British Psychological Society (BPS) in 2010.
During my professional career, I have worked with people experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems in residential settings, with ex-military personnel, with young people and children in care, in schools, in neuro-psychiatric and secure inpatient wards and in my private practice. In the last seven years, I have been working with corporate companies in the technology sector. I have been a lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy courses in Higher Education. I have also provided consultation and training to other professionals.

Something about me
As a young adult, studying psychology deepened my curiosity and desire to understand the complexities of the mind and to help others. I’ve long been intrigued by the dynamic interplay between cognitive sciences and the hermeneutic, interpretive dimensions of psychoanalysis. Despite their differing epistemological foundations, these paradigms together allow me to integrate empirical knowledge of developmental psychology with subjective, lived experience—fostering a more holistic understanding of the human condition.
Over the past 25 years, I have had the privilege of sitting with remarkable individuals from all walks of life and across the lifespan. I have also worked alongside skilled clinicians from various disciplines, whose perspectives have enriched the way I think about and approach mental health. Much of the psychologist I am today, I owe to them.
As part of my training, I have also undergone therapy myself. This experience not only gave me insight into the deeper layers of my own mind, but also helped me cultivate deeper empathy and compassion for others on their journey toward understanding and change.
